Commonly asked Questions and
Answers
about Hypnotherapy
Question: What is
hypnotherapy?
Answer: Hypnotherapy, as
practiced by well trained hypnotherapists is a safe, memorable, deep
meditative state.
It is not sleep but a curious, detached parallel awareness. The same
feeling you have in complete relaxation. Similar to the feeling when
falling off to sleep and first awakening. It is also called the Theta
state.
Question: Will I lose control of my mind and
actions in trance?
Answer: Definitely not!
From the beginning of a session we make a contract and as long as the
words you hear are moral, safe and comfortable for you, you are in full
control. Most people consciously remember everything that is said. The
senses are aware of what is happening. The subconscious mind is alert
and understands the hypnotherapist's every word. In this state, old
patterns of behaviour are changed only if you sincerely wish them to
change.
New scientific evidence suggests
that every cell of your body contains it's own intelligence. Hypnosis
works by accessing this intelligence to change what you have decided is
now an unacceptable pattern of behaviour. Hypnotherapy is a tool for
making exciting, transformational and positive life changes. These
might be issues with relationships, career or accessing more of your
potential.
Hypnotherapy can also be used
